The battery offered is capable of handling high currents and can therefore deliver the high current required to start an engine for a short period of time without any problems or damage. Caution: For example, a battery intended for an alarm system’s emergency power supply is completely unsuitable for this application.

AGM Battery
The abbreviation AGM stands for Absorbent Glass Mat, which roughly translates to “lead-glass mat.” In this process, a glass fiber mat is saturated with sulfuric acid. Unlike conventional acid batteries, there is no longer any liquid inside the battery that could leak, for example, in the event of an accident. This innovative design offers many advantages! Thanks to the relatively low internal resistance of AGM batteries, self-discharge is pleasingly low—meaning the batteries retain sufficient capacity for the next start-up even after prolonged periods of inactivity. Lawn tractors, in particular, which are not used during the cold season, are ideal candidates for AGM batteries! An AGM battery is less susceptible to deep discharge. It delivers good capacity even at cold temperatures, which is not necessarily the case with standard lead-acid batteries. Thanks to these properties, AGM batteries also have a longer service life.
Unlike gel batteries, however, AGM batteries contain acid as an electrolyte, which is bound within a micro-glass mat (lead-mat batteries). The biggest advantage of the AGM battery over the gel version is its noticeably higher starting power and cold-weather performance. However, deep discharge should still be avoided here (as with a gel battery).
